Devi Mahathmyam or Sapthasathi comes in Markandeya Purana. Devata is Chandika. She is Mahakali, Malalaxmi, Mahasaraswati Swaroopam.
Chandika homam has so many benefits. It has got very special power to remove all negatives and shower prosperity and success. Even by keeping the Devi Mahathmya or Sapthasathi book with us, no evil forces will come near. Homam will be performed with the entire 700 slokas of Sapthasathi.
To get the full benefits, homam has to be performed by Chandi/Sree Vidya Upasakas and those who have the Moola mantra initiation of Chandi, and have done at least one lakh of moola mantra japa. Most of our rithwiks (those who do parayanam , homam, poojai) are Sree Vidya and Chandi Upasakas.
On the higher level, Chandi homam will remove ones ego, unwanted desires and make one more knowledgeable and will help to attain wisdom.
